BS Timber – Protection and Sealing

Use and Benefits: Global Prefer BS Timber is a fire prevention material that generates an insulating layer and, in accordance with DIN 4102 – B1, protects timber and derived timber products in a dry interior from fire exposure.
Featuring all necessary test certificates and verifications.
Applicable on solid wood, flat-pressed particle boards and veneer ply wood. Use, i.e., on roof truss, panelling, ceiling lining, etc.
Global Prefer Timber Fire Prevention produces low gas emissions in case of fire and radiant heat and protects the timber from fire exposure by generating a heat insulating foam layer.
To protect the fire prevention layer from abrasion, staining and dampness or to obtain an even, decorative surface, we recommend Global Prefer® BS Varnish.

• Fire prevention in a dry interior in accordance with DIN 4102 – B1
• Without solvents or halogen compounds
• Water-based

Preparation: Stir up well before use.
The subsurface must be dry, clean and free of separating particles. Please observe VOB (German Construction Contract Procedures), chapter C, DIN 18 363, para. 3. Clean wood surfaces thoroughly and break sharp edges (abrade slightly).

Application: Coat prepared surfaces with a roller, paint brush, brush or through spraying method (airless).
Do not fall below the minimum application quantity of 500 g per sqm. Carry out the coating in 2-3 processes. Allow a drying time of about 2-4 hours between each work process. The drying period depends on the temperature of the subsurface or environment. The relative humidity should not exceed 60 %. Provide for sufficient ventilation during application.
Protect the timber after drying, and during mechanical load and dampness with an additional coating of Global Prefer® BS Varnish (see separate technical product information).

Caution: Global Prefer® BS Timber is a technical coating. Slight tarnishing or visual irregularities on the surface do not affect the coating. The temperature of the surface and air should be between +5°C and max. +25°C. Do not apply on exposed surfaces during strong winds or rain.
Keep out of reach of children!
